As I started diving into the Hologram Electronics Chroma Console, I began to unlock so many wonderful sounds in the various modules. Many of these modules reminded me of other pedals. Strymon DECO, Montreal Assembly Count to 5, and of course, the Chase Bliss MOOD Mkii and Generation Loss Mkii (Probably some Lossy in there too!)
So naturally I decided to see if I could match the sounds from the Chroma to the MOOD and Gen Loss. This one is approached a bit differently than my normal comparison videos. Normally, when I’m comparing a pedal, to let’s say, the Meris LVX or Mercury X, I’m tweaking the Meris pedals to emulate the other pedal. More simply, can pedal A be adjusted to sound like pedal B. This one is the other way around. Can pedal B be adjusted to sound like pedal A. (Pedal B in this case are the Chase Bliss and Pedal A the Chroma.) The reason for this is that while the Chroma Console is jam packed with so many different sounds, the ability to adjust each of the algorithms is very limited. This isn’t a bad thing, just a thing. So in this case, I dialed in the desired settings on the Chroma Console that reminded me of the MOOD and Gen Loss, and then adjusted the MOOD and Gen Loss to match the sounds from the Chroma. A little backwards approach to the same thing.
