Privacy Policy
Effective September 10, 2026
1. Information We Collect
When you create an account and use The Pedal Collaborative, we collect information you provide directly:
- Account information — email address, display name, and optional username when you register.
- Collection data — the pedals you add to your vault, wishlist, boards, and notes you attach to them.
- Photos — images you upload or capture to represent your gear.
- Tone and gear preferences — onboarding answers and expert-mode settings you choose.
- Usage information — how you interact with features such as scanning, your vault, and boards.
- Community activity — pedals you add to your vault or wishlist are counted anonymously to power community trend features (e.g., "5 members added this"). You can opt out of contributing to these counts at any time in your Profile settings. Counts are always anonymous — your name is never shown.
We also collect certain information automatically:
- Device identifiers and operating system version for crash reporting and compatibility.
- Anonymous analytics to understand which features are used most.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the app and its features.
- Recognize pedals from photos you scan, and keep your collection and market values up to date.
- Send important service communications (e.g., subscription confirmations, security notices).
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access.
- Comply with legal obligations.
