Sidechain Compression on Chase Bliss Clean

The Chase Bliss Clean Stereo Compressor is a pretty nest and unique little device. In fact, you can hear our all the first sounds we got out of it in this video HERE!

One little trick up Clean’s sleeve we didn’t explore, was the sidechain compression feature built in. What is sidechain compression and how do you use it? Well, normally a compressor pedal will activate based on the incoming guitar signal. You play hard and the compressor squishes. With sidechain compression you are sending another audio signal to activate the compressor. Clean has an 1/8” input jack on the side so you can send other audio. This is very useful when sending kick drum for example, and you can get really creative!

In our example, we use some nifty bleep bloop sounds from the Empress ZOIA.
