FIRST SOUNDS // Collision Devices Crushturnal

January 31, 2025 | Alan

After having a great inaugural run on the Collision Devices Black Hole Symmetry, we quickly realized that the folks over at Collision Devices weren’t messing around with making multi-effects that are the perfect blend of sonic and aesthetic beauty. So naturally we did what any sane human being would do–we decided to go for a hat trick and get their Nocturnal and Crushturnal as well. The Nocturnal was glorious as well, especially in the “Celeste” colourway we got. We had to wait quite a while for the Limited Edition colourway of the Crushturnal, but boy or boy were was it worth the wait!!!

According to Collision Devices, the “CRUSHTURNAL takes it inspiration from the glitch created by clock change on digital processors. It delays, reverberates, destroys, microloops, shifts the pitch or harmonizes your signal, and much more. Everything in a very creative way thanks to its clock sequencer that can be synced to a tap tempo or an external signal. It has three parts, an ambience, a digital repeater and a sequencer.”

So join Paul as he explores the gloriously crushed and sequenced first sounds from this wonderful device! Which part is your favorite? An individual effect or combination? Have you tried it yet?
