FIRST SOUNDS // Neon Egg Planetarium V3

You probably know by now that we here at TPC have a thing for aesthetics when it comes to our gear. Doesn’t matter what gear it is, it has to look good. Boy does the  @neon_egg  Planetarium look good! It looks like a console! It looks like a modular synth! It has wooden sides! The knob layout is thorough yet not overwhelming. The LEDs are tasteful and functional. The color coordination is spot on and it’s just wow!

It looks great, but what does it do? It’s modulation and delay and reverb plus compressor. It’s stereo in and out and even does sidechain compression! The compressor has it’s own footswitch and can be used independent of the other effects. The modulation and time based effects can cover a LOT of ground and go from subtle to insane. To maximize the effects, there’s an input trim knob with a single LED meter to make sure you have the input level just right. Neon Egg thought of so many things and deployed them right!

How does it sound? Well you just have to listen to the video to see! Admittedly I went hard right off the bat, but for whatever reason, the Planetarium drew that out of me on that day. No complaints! Dare I say it took me to shoegaze territory??

Ok but I do have a gripe. It looks awkward on a pedalboard. It’s kinda got a big footprint (although not terrible), and it’s tall compared to everything else. It’s unique and that’s ok, just be aware. Oh! You also need a VERY SPECIFIC power supply. Something like 15v center positive. It comes with it but be prepared for that!
