Best Oil Can Delay? Strymon Olivera OR OBNE Black Fountain

With the recent release of the @strymon Olivera Vintage Stereo Oil Can Delay, we asked...
Early in Febuary 2025, Old Blood Noise Endeavors sent out a newsletter announcing they were selling the BL-13 Octave, the final in their series, but only as a pre-order during the first 13 days of the month and that’s it. Apparently they weren’t going to release it, but when they had a visit from Emily Harpist, she was playing around with it and loved it so much she convinced Brady and the team to release it! This is how the BL-13 Octave was born, or at least how the legend goes. We’ve not had any of the BL series on our channel up to this point. Nothing against them, they just haven’t been on the forefront of our mind. As luck would have it, when the newsletter went out, I was itching to buy something, and in the cart the BL-13 went! Almost immediately I had buyer’s remorse, or more accurately: credit card statement remorse (lol). It didn’t last long though, because as soon as the pedal came and I plugged it in, I was met with some very unique and wonderful sounds! The BL-13 Octave is, well, an octave pedal with simple controls. Mix and Volume knob, a clock slider, and a MORE knob. That’s it. Mono in and out and a pretty purple LED. However the BL-13 ventures well outside the lines of an octave pedal as you’ll quickly see. Chorus, reverb, delay, organ, bloom. Yes indeed! Now if I can only nail all my notes then these videos might be worth it!
