I’m a sucker for limited editions…and germanium diodes. So when Keeley Electronics announced this limited to 50 run of Germanium Blues Disorders in Gold I was pretty jazzed. I haven’t had the chance to try any of their newer 4-in-1 series drive pedals, so I figured this was a great place to dive in! At first the idea was for this run of 50, which was made in celebration of 50 years of Edmond Music, to be sold in person at the 50th Anniversary Celebration, but it turns out that only about 31 were sold at that event. Edmond then sold the rest on their webstore and I was lucky enough to grab one!
Come listen to the exploration as we choose between the flat eq of the Blues Breaker (BB) style tone stack and the more upper midrange hyped OCD (OC) circuit. What does the BB tone stack sound like with the harder clipping style of the OC? How about the OC tone stack with the softer clipping of the BB? AND ALL OF THIS WITH GERMANIUM DIODES! Oh I’m in OD heaven!
Best news is, while the gold version is limited to 50, you can STILL get this circuit in the standard black from Edmond’s direct: https://edmondmusic.com/keeley-blues-disorder-germanium-edmond-music-50th-anniversary-pedal-black/
