I’ve always been intrigued by drum machines. I’ve tried desktop ones and “smart” ones within my DAW. Then I saw the Rainger FX Snare Trap and became enamored by the idea of having drums in line with the rest of my effects! Finally something to use in a live environment what I could control with my feet while playing!
Unfortunately, the Snare Trap is mono in/out, which for me as a stereo player, means that I have to have it pretty early in the chain. No big deal as long as I don’t use my wet effects like chorus, trem, delay or reverb…except I ALWAYS use wet effects!
Finally it dawned on me exactly how to get the Snare Trap to work in my workflow and accomplish dry drums within my stereo signal not affected by the wet effects! This video shows you how to do it.
What do you think? Is there a better way you’ve found or can think of? I’d love to know about it!
